Two new recordings Two new recordings by Antonio Meneses have been released. Meneses plays Heitor Villa-Lobos's two cello concertos, and the Fantasia for Cello and Orchestra, in a new recording on the Naxos label. Meneses is joined by the São Paulo Symphony, led by conductor Issac Karabtchevsky. The second album, After a Dream, features Meneses and pianist Cristian Budu in a program of music by French composers (Debussy, Franck, Fauré, Ravel, Saint-Saëns), in both original settings and in arrangements for cello and piano. Antonio Meneses to perform World Premiere of Padilha Cello Concerto Antonio Meneses will be the soloist for the World Premiere performance of Marco Padilha's Cello Concerto, November 22 in São Paulo, Brazil. The concerto was commissioned by the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, who will join Meneses in the permiere, under the baton of Giancarlo Guerrero.
